- What does a credit buy?
- One elevation point (a 512-point batch is 512 credits), or 10 kB of data out: 100 credits per MB of raster extract or Darly-hosted COG download. A 1 m elevation extract is about 240 credits per km².
- What is never charged?
- Catalog browsing and search, errors, and rate-limited calls. Only successful elevation responses and downloads use credits.
- Which credits are used first?
- Your free 10,000 each month, then purchased credits. Free credits reset on the 1st (UTC); purchased credits never expire.
- What happens when I run out?
- The API answers 402 until you buy more or your free credits reset. There are no overage bills and no subscription to cancel.
- Are there rate limits?
- Fair-use per-minute burst limits apply to everyone; see rate limits & credits.
